2016 YWCA Honors

​The YWCA of North Orange County named Fullerton attorney Marty Burbank as its Business Man of the Year during its Chocolate Fantasy fundraising event at Los Coyotes Country Club. Also honored were Retired Judge Nancy Wieben Stock, Advocate of the Year, Kim Rhynes, Business Woman of the Year, and Marlene McGlensey as Woman of the Year. ​

Full Moon Rising Brings Special Haunted Tour

There is a full moon rising! The Fullerton Museum Center will mark the occasion with a special Haunted Fullerton Full Moon Walking Tour on Monday, February 22, from 6:00-8:30 p.m.

Patterned after the popular “Haunted Fullerton Walking Tours” that are offered in the fall, the Haunted Fullerton Full Moon Tour will include visits and stories surrounding properties and locations around the city, starting at the Museum Center and ending at the Villa Del Sol with a prepaid refreshments and paranormal investigation. Prior to the tour, attendees can meet and ask questions of representatives with the North Orange County Paranormal Society (N.O.P.S.), from 5:30-6 p.m. Cost of the tour is $18 for general admission, and $15 for Museum members.

The Haunted Fullerton Full Moon Walking Tour includes approximately 1.5 miles of walking and the use of stairs. Attendees are encouraged to pre-register for the popular event and to wear appropriate footwear. Tours are not recommended for children under 13 years old.

  • Healthy Living Series Presented at Fullerton Community Center

    Fullerton, Ca – The Fullerton Community Center will help residents live healthier lives in the New Year with a five-week nutrition series entitled, “Eat Healthy – Be Active.” The series will be held on Mondays, beginning March 7 and running through April 4 from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.Attendees will learn how to make better choices when dining, and how to be more active to help prevent obesity, diabetes and other health-related problems.  Based on the nutritional ‘MyPlate’ concept, the series will target building a healthy plate, planning healthier meals, shopping on a limited budget, developing a better understanding of labels, and making healthier beverage choices.  Each class includes a food demonstration.These free classes are sponsored by the Adult Public Health Nursing Services, Orange County Health Care Agency.  Pre-registration is requested by calling (714) 738-6305.The Fullerton Community Center is located at 340 W. The Mirror Visions Ensemble will be the ensemble-in-residence at Cal State Fullerton School of Music from February 4 to February 9. CSUF School of Music students will benefit from masterclasses, individual coachings and lessons from members of MVE--including soprano Vira Slywotzky, tenor Scott Murphree, baritone Jesse Blumberg, and composer and pianist Richard Pearson Thomas--culminating in a final concert at the Clayes Performing Arts Center Box Office on February 9 at 8:00 p.m. For tickets:
